The IBMS Awards 2025 will take place at The Brewery, London on Friday 4 July. The awards recognises the profession’s finest and showcases their incredible achievements and success stories with the wider biomedical community and beyond.

Ed Patrick is a comedian, author and NHS anaesthetist. He has performed across the UK, including at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and is currently on a 2025 UK tour.

Ed’s TV appearances include Have I Got News For You (BBC 1), Sky’s Friday Night with Niall Paterson, Channel 4’s Jokes Only An NHS Worker Can Tell and BBC Scotland. Ed also created and hosted Infectious Personalities on BBC Radio 2, and has written and performed on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio Scotland.

Ed hosts the "Comedians' Surgery" podcast where he speaks to guests including Joe Lycett, Rose Matafeo and Reginald D Hunter about their health stories and experiences.

Ed’s book, Catch Your Breath, was published by Hachette and to critical acclaim. He has also written for The Guardian about the intersection between medicine and comedy.
